The car is a genuine all-rounder that is ideal for everyday use. That, in a nutshell, is Alex Kersten’s detailed review of the ŠKODA ENYAQ iV. Take a look at the British motoring journalist’s full test to find out everything about the driving experience, charging, electric powertrain and also its exterior and interior design.

Alex’s chats with ŠKODA’s own experts reveal how clever and sophisticated the ENYAQ iV is. For example, they explain how useful the heat pump is; they give an insight into the special eNoise function; they explain why drum brakes were used on the rear axle; and they let us in on lots of other design secrets.

Alex makes no bones about being an enthusiastic driver who enjoys sitting behind the wheel. And he is full of praise for the ENYAQ iV SUV’s driving qualities: “That torque is pretty addictive and the performance is great. The car corners well and accelerates with gusto. The suspension is brilliant and the brakes too,” he says. He also draws attention to the excellent recuperation function and praises the quiet running and extremely comfortable interior with lots of clever details. “You’ll feel right at home inside straightaway,” Alex says.

Alex Kersten also appreciated the comfortable and practical interior.

Although he’s a traditional “petrol head”, he brushes aside the usual criticism directed at electric cars: “It offers a range of up to 520 kilometres in the WLTP cycle, with zero CO2 emissions,” Alex says. Charging is a piece of cake, he says. What’s more, in future ŠKODA will offer a charging card service giving access to over 180,000 charging points right across Europe, including IONITY fast charging stations.

Charing is a piece of cake, according to Alex.

Before he joined Car Throttle in 2011, where he is in charge of video content, he worked for various car magazines, including Autocar. Alex comes from London and is a big ŠKODA fan. He created quite a stir with his series of videos about a second-hand first-generation ŠKODA OCTAVIA with 700,000 kilometres on the clock that he and his colleagues picked up for just 200 pounds.
