ŠKODA in Frankfurt

ŠKODA in Frankfurt

The automotive world is gathered in Frankfurt am Main. ŠKODA is presenting two new cars at the IAA car show. Be sure to take a look at the European première of the VISION E concept car and the exhibition première of the new SUV ŠKODA KAROQ.

12. 9. 2017 MEDIA LIVESTREAM

ŠKODA is ready for the future with plug-in hybrid models as well as purely electrically driven cars. The brand’s VISION E, a concept car that is purely electrically driven, points to that future of ŠKODA.

“Our concept car delivers tangible responses to a question that’s not only faced by us at ŠKODA – it’s faced by the entire automotive industry – what will the mobility of the future look like? The answer is: electric, autonomous, connected. And this is exactly what the ŠKODA VISION E has got to offer. It’s battery-powered, it delivers 225 kilowatts of output, and it has a range of 500 kilometres. It’s got level-3 autonomous driving functions as early as 2020. That means that the car is going to accelerate, steer, and brake independently. And it’s got intuitive handling thanks to eye-tracking and voice and gesture control. Ladies and gentlemen, the Vision E will make driving a car safer, more comfortable, and cleaner,” said Bernhard Maier, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ŠKODA AUTO.

Another new model presented in Frankfurt is the ŠKODA KAROQ SUV. This new car is filled with state-of-the-art technology.

“The ŠKODA KAROQ is going to continue our SUV campaign. It’s got exactly what it needs to be just as successful as ŠKODA’s first big SUV, the KODIAQ. And the opportunities and chances are very good, because it offers more than you’d expect from a compact SUV: perfect connectivity thanks to SmartLink+, and that means that you can intuitively hook up external devices. Or there’s ŠKODA Connect. Among other things, it can place an automatic emergency call, it offers real-time navigation and remote access to your car. Also, there’s the new individually programmable digital instrument panel with four different layouts available in a ŠKODA for the first time. And there is a multitude of state-of-the-art driver-assistance systems normally associated with much higher vehicle classes. And of course, as typical for ŠKODA, it has excellent off-road capabilities and very convincing cabin space,” added Mr Bernhard Maier.
