ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ iV: what’s beneath the camouflage?

ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ iV: what’s beneath the camouflage?

More emotive design, better aerodynamics and therefore improved range on a single charge. That’s what the new all-electric ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ iV offers. Take a peek beneath its camouflage.

5. 9. 2021 MODELS Enyaq

While the design of the new car’s front is identical to the electric ENYAQ iV SUV, the roof dips gradually towards the rear, evoking an even more dynamic feeling and making it reminiscent of the now legendary yellow VISION iV study. Meanwhile, the new lines of the coupé’s design can be admired in the original camouflage that works with the car’s very name.

“With our purely electric flagship ŠKODA ENYAQ iV, we have made a great start on the international markets and the vehicle has been extremely well received by our customers. We have already notched up well over 40,000 orders and the media response has also been consistently positive. We are now following up with the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV: this even more emotively designed variant of our e-SUV is a real design highlight and a perfect addition to our model range,” says ŠKODA CEO Thomas Schäfer.

Even better aerodynamics

Thanks to the subtly dovetailed rear, the designers have succeeded in slightly improving the aerodynamics on the new ENYAQ COUPÉ iV, which boasts an air drag coefficient of Cd 0.247, one hundredth of a percentage point better than the classic ENYAQ iV model. In practice, this seemingly slight improvement has a positive effect on the electric car’s range, which has been extended from more than 520 kilometres in the WLTP cycle to more than 535 kilometres. A panoramic sunroof comes as standard on this body variant. The new shape of the car’s rear end has also changed the dimensions: while the wheelbase (2,765 mm) and width (1,879 mm) remain unchanged, with a length of 4,563 mm the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV is 4 mm longer than the ENYAQ iV and is also a millimetre taller (1,617 mm).

Green thinking inside and out

The dynamically shaped coupé retains the vast majority of its SUV sibling’s practicality. The boot volume is a generous 570 litres. Inside the car, customers will be able to choose from a selection of Design Selection packages that create different atmospheres to suit different tastes. The Loft Design Selection is a modern and cosy option, while Lodge focuses on sustainable materials such as seat covers made from 40% virgin wool and 60% polyester made from 318 recycled PET bottles. These seat covers feature the Woolmark Company’s wool seal, which is a guarantee of quality and comfort. The EcoSuite Design Selection then features “cognac” leather upholstery, which is tanned in an eco-friendly and sustainable way using extracts from olive tree leaves.

Rear-wheel or all-wheel

Customers buying an ENYAQ COUPÉ iV will be able to choose from three power output levels, two battery sizes and rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The basic ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 60 will offer a battery with a total capacity of 62 kWh (57 kWh usable) and a 132 kW electric motor that drives the rear axle. The ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 80 version also has rear-wheel drive, a 150 kW electric motor and a battery capacity of 82 kWh (77 kWh usable). This particular version boasts a maximum range of over 535 kilometres on a single charge. The top of the range will be the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV 80x all-wheel drive version, which also uses the higher capacity battery and has a system output of 195 kW.
