The new ŠKODA FABIA seen through its designers’ eyes

The new ŠKODA FABIA seen through its designers’ eyes

The fourth-generation ŠKODA FABIA is bigger, more elegant and more dynamic than its predecessors. Its design helped to combine various requirements customers may place on the car.

The new ŠKODA FABIA is a car that was designed very rationally but is still highly emotive. In the video, this combination of qualities that are reflected in the car’s looks is explained by the ŠKODA design team headed by Oliver Stefani.

The new FABIA is big and grown-up, as Stefani himself stresses: „If you look at the FABIA – what will be your first impression? It’s a modern car – in an elegant body – with a very dynamic look. It’s a compact car. Yet bigger than before. Grown up to offer amazing roominess. The new FABIA is a human-oriented car, yet with all the hi-tech expected in the bigger class.“

The FABIA pushes ahead with ŠKODA’s contemporary crystalline design language and has been given bold lines and dynamic proportions. Karl Neuhold, head of exterior design, describes the new, sharp-edged LED lights with crystalline elements and the more pronounced radiator grille. Peter Olah, head of interior design, draws attention to fresh new features like the decorative floating line in a contrasting colour that optically widens the dashboard and the door handle design that took its inspiration from the ŠKODA VISION X and VISION RS concepts. Kateřina Vránová, in charge of Colour & Trim, showcases the materials that make the new car’s interior such a welcoming space.

„The all-new FABIA is a car, where different needs and expectations meet in perfect harmony.“ says Oliver Stefani, summarising the latest generation of this small car. And he recommends that you get up close and personal with the new car as soon as you can, because that’s the only way to get a proper idea of what it’s like.
