The all-new OCTAVIA SCOUT: ideal for active lifestyles

The range of fourth-generation OCTAVIA models has been expanded by a SCOUT version. It delivers even greater practicality and modern digital features.

The ŠKODA OCTAVIA SCOUT has traditionally only been available with an estate body design. The latest SCOUT comes in both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive versions.

“The most visible visual changes are the distinctive bumpers, mudguard edges and thresholds, and silver details like the rearview mirrors and window trim,” says Daniel Petr from the exterior design department of ŠKODA. “The car’s outdoor character is accented by the new wheel design as well as the silver details,” he adds.

People buying a SCOUT can opt for eighteen-inch light-alloy Braga wheels or nineteen-inch Manaslu rims.

Accentuate the contrast

As far as colours are concerned, customers have the usual palette to choose from. “For the car’s presentation we chose the blue titan colour scheme, which suits the car beautifully. Like the other light shades I recommend for the SCOUT model, it nicely accentuates the contrast between the body and the new design features,” Daniel Petr says.

Par for the course with the SCOUT model is the 15-mm raised clear height, which helps the car navigate off-road terrain more easily. “The classic OCTAVIA design model is a beautiful example of modern design, and the outdoor version evokes the same feelings, just with a slightly different perspective,” says Daniel Petr about the new model’s looks.

Extremely practical

The latest ŠKODA OCTAVIA SCOUT is also a very practical car, of course. The estate body features a luggage space of 640 litres, which is a record size for the OCTAVIA SCOUT model. At 4,703 mm long, it’s also the longest OCTAVIA SCOUT in history. Manoeuvring can be facilitated by the optional 360° camera showing what is around the car on the infotainment display.

The OCTAVIA SCOUT can also come with other state-of-the-art safety assistants and digital features. These now include a head-up display or a system drawing your attention to a vehicle in a lane up to 70 metres behind you.

Besides this version’s logo, specialities of the SCOUT interior include decorative trim, contrasting brown stitching and seats with ThermoFlux covers. There is also the option of ergonomic front seats upholstered in a combination of leather and Suedia material. Aluminium pedals and special mats for the SCOUT model are standard.

The all-new OCTAVIA SCOUT comes with the state-of-the-art Bolero infotainment system as standard, with a large, ten-inch touch display, Laura voice assistant and a wide range of online services. That is just one of the features that make the all-new ŠKODA OCTAVIA SCOUT the most all-round model of its kind to date.

Front-wheel drive for the first time

The ŠKODA OCTAVIA SCOUT has traditionally been associated with all-wheel drive, but the fourth generation of this model allows customers to choose front-wheel drive for the active lifestyle version.

The all-wheel drive option comes with an 85 kW 2.0 TDI engine (115 hp) and a 110 kW 1.5 TSI engine (150 hp), both with manual six-speed transmissions. You can also choose the mild-hybrid 1.5 TSI e-TEC version with front-wheel drive, which comes with a seven-speed DSG gearbox.

The top-of-the-range 140 kW 2.0 TSI, 147 kW 2.0 TDI and 110 kW 2.0 TDI engines, delivering 190 hp, 200 hp and 150 hp respectively, only come with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed DSG gearbox. The top-quality all-wheel drive with a hydraulic inter-axle clutch can react to the smallest differences in the wheel revolutions and automatically transfers the torque to the wheels with the best traction within milliseconds. When needed, it can transfer up to 90 % of the torque to the rear axle and one wheel can transfer up to 85 % of the torque.
